Out Of Sight Out Of Mind
A day of exploration on Mental Health led by Revd Andrew Howorth
Sat 9th November 10:00am for 10:15am To 3:30pm, Yeadon Methodist Church
Mental ill- health can affect any of us at any time. Why is it still so often hidden from view or even stigmatised? Thinking of our congregations and the community, how can churches respond with care, compassion and understanding?
Combining expert input and group interaction, the day is designed to help us:
- Know more about mental health issues across all ages
- Gain a deeper understanding of the experience of the sufferer and their family and carers
- Explore the practical responses of the church
- Reflect on how our Christian theology can inform positive approaches

Revd Andrew Howorth worked in the NHS for 24 years as mental health Chaplain, taking on responsibility for anti-stigma work, positive mental health engagement, the establishing of a carer support group and many different patient feedback groups. He is now working at Bradford University and as associate Priest at Menston Parish Church. We are delighted he will be leading the day for the circuit, supported by Deacon Jenny Parnell as Chaplain.
