Deacon Jenny Parnell

I'm Jenny and I moved to this Circuit in 2017 as a probationer deacon. My family and I are originally from North Cornwall. My husband and I have four children who are all in their twenties. We also have two small grandsons.

I trained for ministry at the Queen's Foundation in Birmingham. Whilst there I enjoyed meeting and training alongside those from different backgrounds and denominations. I have recently completed a degree in theology, ministry, and mission.

I was ordained as a diaconal minister in the summer of 2019. The Methodist Diaconal Order is both an order of ministry and a dispersed religious order within the Methodist Church. It was formed in 1989 as a successor to the Wesley Deaconess Order and is now open to both women and men. The deacon's role focusses on bridging the gap between the Church and the world.

This role has been, and continues to be a joy as I work amongst you in West Yorkshire.
