Deacon Liz Day

My name is Liz and I am a Deacon in the Methodist church.

Originally from Halifax, I trained as a teacher in Durham and taught in Bradford for a few years before leaving to run my own hospitality business in Settle.

In 1996 I moved to work at Leeds Methodist Mission as a layworker from where I moved into ministerial training to become an ordained Deacon.

I have worked in Gateshead and Nottingham (as a mental health chaplain) before moving to the Wharfedale and Aireborough Circuit in 2012 where I have been in different roles including chaplain to Methodist Homes.

Currently I am working part time, with the churches of Burley in Wharfedale, Menston and Otley in a supportive role.

I love singing and music in general. I also enjoy being outdoors, in the countryside and in gardens (though I don't actually like gardening — just watching my husband Andrew create wonderful things !)
