This is a local group wanting to continue to use the existing buildings for community use and who will be developing the existing site to maintain the beauty and integrity of these important buildings within the town of Otley.
As a charity the Church has been obliged by charity commission regulations to achieve best price for the site. The sale to this local community organization ensures a good future for the buildings which will bring significant benefit to the local community and will provide the opportunity of a home for the time being for both the worshipping congregation and the Methodist Church Uniformed Groups
The new Minister, Rev. Cameron Stirk said, "We are delighted a local community group will take over the management of this building – a group that aligns very closely with the church's mission of offering welcome and a place for meeting, learning, sustainability and creativity. We were unanimous in our agreement to accept this local offer and look forward to working with the group for a smooth transition. It has been a long journey, but we are grateful for all involved in the process. The Church congregation for the foreseeable future will continue to use the building for meeting for worship and other activities and events."
