Jennifer Fletcher

I have spent most of the last 20 years of ministry in York and Sheffield before returning with my husband and two children, to this area where I grew up in 2019.

My previous role was funding and overseeing lay leaders who were growing New Worshipping Communities across the Diocese of York.

I was so pleased in January 2026 to be appointed to the New Places for New People role of “Missional Wellbeing Pioneer” with the Methodist Circuit and return to the grass roots in Otley.

Interesting Job title?!

I am passionate about exploring how we can be missional and create new projects and expressions of church in places, formats and at times that are meaningful and relevant for families in Otley today.

This role in Otley is pioneering, it’s starting with a blank canvas and discerning how we might experiment and create some new spaces and collaborations with a particular focus on families and young people.

Wellbeing – Spiritual, mental and physical wellbeing is at the heart of the vision of this new work.
