Firm Roots aims to follow the calling of Isaiah 61:

"to bind up the broken hearted... to comfort all who mourn... and bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes" (Isaiah 61 v 1-3).

Firm Roots is a Christian cancer support organisation which offers prayer and spiritual support to people affected by cancer and their family and friends. Their mission is to walk alongside people whose lives have been affected by cancer, and to support them with God's love.

About Firm Roots
Firm Roots was started in Bristol in June 2012, by Helen Jones. Helen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, at the age of 40, and needed a mastectomy and six months of chemotherapy. Although this was a horrible year, it was a year in which God upheld Helen – filling her each day with just enough peace, hope and strength to face each day. Helen's family, friends and church were also an incredible support to her.

Since this time, Helen has had a growing sense of wanting to pass on the same encouragement, comfort and hope that she found in God, to other people affected by cancer and their families. Many people go through cancer, without the support of a family living close by, or of a church community, so Firm Roots is a practical way to support people and show God's love.

The Firm Roots motto is 'Strength for today; hope for tomorrow' and we at Trinity Rawdon want to offer a safe space and an opportunity to gather once a month for prayer, support and encouragement. Our belief is that if you are rooted in the Lord God, He will hold you with His love, in the storm of cancer.

Our Firm Roots group will be starting on September 29th in the new Hall at Trinity Rawdon, and we will continue meeting on the last Wednesday of the month between 11 – 12.30, all are welcome.
