Comprising of eighteen huge silk, stitched panels (3m high) it takes key scenes from the New Testament and gives you the viewer a chance to immerse yourself in the bible in a way you never have before. People of all backgrounds are very moved by the exhibition.
Textile artist Jacqui Parkinson (known to some members when she was Jacqui Frost, married to the late Rev Rob Frost) has spent ten years completing three astonishing exhibitions: thousands of people have seen two of them at Ripon Cathedral – Threads through Creation, and Threads through Revelation.
Now the third part has just been finished: Threads through the Cross, the eighteen panels re-telling scenes from Jesus' life with more than 5 million stitches! You'll find yourself absorbed in the story of the love and life of Jesus, his tragic crucifixion and ultimate triumph over death.
It's the only chance to see it in North Yorkshire, at Ripon Cathedral from 3rd July to 4th August. Admission free.
